Breathe Freely launched in 2015, and is a collaborative initiative aimed at tackling the incidence of occupational disease in the construction industry, focusing initially on respiratory disease.
As awareness gradually increases about the urgent need to focus more on health in this sector, this one-day conference will examine practical ways to improve standards across the industry, to ultimately reduce the incidence of ill-health and disease. The current statistics show that construction workers are 100 times more likely to suffer from ill-health than from an injury at work.
Why attend?
Expert speakers will provide insight into emerging health issues in the construction industry, and update us on new initiatives and best practice in a range of areas. Workshop sessions will provide the opportunity for delegates to input into the development of the Breathe Freely campaign and discuss how, collectively, we can make a difference.
This event is an opportunity to assess the progress made to date and to look to the future to agree ways we can accelerate this progress to have a real positive impact on the health of the construction workforce of today and of the future.
